Teramo's coasts are the ideal for who seeks rest and calm without abdicating to some amusement. This places are famous for long white immaculate beaches, low and sandy backdrops and clear waters certified by the Blue Flag. The main cities are Giulianova and Roseto degli Abruzzi. Both of them have a waterfront rich in equipped bathing establishments, alternated by free beach zones. There are also cycle-pedestrian footsteps, sporting centers, towns swimming pools and green areas equipped for the sport and the leisure time. Tourists accommodations have every useful service for them, they are located few meters from the beach, giving the possibility to leave the car in the specific area and fully enjoy the stay, moving on foot or by bike (available services of bike-sharing) or with bus shuttle. They offer a lot for the evening leisure: the chalets organize evenings dancing with animation for adults and children; in addiction, there are numerous gastronomy events, with music and shows that animate the summer evenings.
Giulianova is also the center of the only one port in Teramo province, accessible on foot and by bike, where the characteristic caliscendi can be admired (structures made of wood for the fishing). The city develops up to 70 meters altitude, where the historical part rises. The city is well known for the Belvedere, from which is possible to admire the whole coast, the San Flaviano Duomo, the Sant’Antonio church and the Santuario della Madonna dello Splendore, destination of an intense pilgrimage tourism. Also in the highest part of the city, ancient buildings , among which the historical Distilleria Orsini, are used for the night-time fun, the same goes for restaurants and places that propose different kinds of music and specialty of the typical seafood kitchen of Teramo.
Roseto degli Abruzzi is a modern coastal center, that develops along the National Route 16, with his historical core that take place to 300 meters altitude in comparison to the beach: the Middle Ages village of Montepagano is a small town from which it is possible to admire the whole shore up to Pescara, that annually entertains the oldest show of Abruzzo region of wine. Both in Giulianova and Roseto is possible to stay overnight near characteristic farmhouses and B&Bs, situated in the green, in few footsteps from the sea.
