Are you in Roseto degli Abruzzi? Then you can enjoy the Adriatic sea famous for the golden beach of "Lido delle Rose" and the beautiful waterfront! From here you can easily reach the hilly suburb of Montepagano crossing SP19. Of medieval origins, the country preserves Porta Borea that belonged to the surrounded building. Of sure charm is the Bell tower that is risen "solitary" in the Central Plaza. Not to be missed the historical summer appointment with the typical wines: the historic Mostra dei Vini of Montepagano, the most ancient in Abruzzo.
Going down to valley and crossing a line of SS150 toward the inside, you reach the crossroad that conducts to Notaresco (on the right). In the beautiful historical center of medieval origin remember the appointment with the Abruzzo Irish Festival in September! In the fraction of Guardia Vomano the abbey of San Clemente: a true Romanesque jewel of the IX sec.
From here taking back the SS150 toward the inside, you can go toward Montegualtieri, in Cermignano: here you are on the other bank of the river Vomano. The suburb show you the Tower of Montegualtieri: tall 18 mt and built between XIII and XIV sec. it is a tower of sighting with a characteristic triangular plants. Going up again toward the hill for around 6 Km you will reach Cermignano the country of the cult of Lu Sand'Andonje where it is possible to taste the “cillitte” a local traditional sweets.
Returning on the left slope of Vomano, from Castelnuovo Vomano go up toward the medieval suburb of Castelbasso, fraction of Castellalto, that preserves a pentagonal tower, two doors and the boundaries. We signal you the portal of the Church of San Pietro and Andrea of the 1338. In the suburb the Malvina Menegaz Foundation for Arts and Cultures organizes a demonstration in summer rich in events. To Castellalto instead, to August, the well known Festival of the handicraft beers.
Taking back the SS150 toward the crossroad for Canzano: you arrive to the country famous for Tacchino alla canzanese, for the art of the embroidery and the lace and for the apparition of Madonna dell’Alno, to which is devoted the Sanctuary that rises in country. Out of the country there is the abbey of San Salvatore: a Benedictine complex in Romanesque style.
