Ideal panoramic run in spring or autumn period, when you can dip yourself in the flowering fields or admire the turning of the leaves.
Departing from the historical center of Isola del Gran Sasso, more specifically from the postal office, there is a tiny road that shortly after turns into a stone mule track. Once arrived to the asphalted road, that goes to Cesa di Franca, continue to the rout that cross the cultivated fields, to reach a house (inhabited only in the summer). Here go to the right and proceed in slope on a stone road, to reach the ruins of San Valentino convent.
Remain on the road for hundred meters, then take a path that cross the oaks. You arrive near the highway and you get over it using a paved underground burrow in cement. Coasting a cultivated field you reach a mule track, that leads to Forca Di Valle.
Take the steep path that goes up among the houses of the country then reach a crossroads behind a fountain. Here turn to the left and, following the wood poster of the park, pass close Fonte del Peschio, a great rock from which it gushes out some water. Then you arrive to Sella di Pianalunga.
Crossing the lawns you arrive on the top of a great grassy hill, called "Lu Ncuume." After a break to refresh and enjoy the view of Gran Sasso’s Valle Siciliana, go down toward the lawns in the direction of the inhabited area of Cerchiara.
Cerchiara is connected to Fonte Chiavatteri by an excavated road, that leads to the country in a shortly time. From here you can take the country cross that brings again to San Valentine ruins and then to Isola Del Gran Sasso.
