The itinerary start from San Giacomo, city of Valle Castellana, situated on Gemelli Mountains. From there you can climb through the thin wood to meet one of stone huts, also called caciare, used by the shepherds as refuge in summer. Continuing among lawns and small beechwood you reach Gabbiano lake a small mirror of water populated by great crested newts. Continuing in the wood you reach Tre Caciare (1430 ms), from here you carry on along Crosta del Prevosto, that offers landscapes of Sibillini mountains and Monti della Laga, up to reenter to San Giacomo.
