Gole del Salinello

The excursion start from Macchia da Sole (910 ms) through Gole del Salinello place that unites history, culture and nature of the two slopes of Gemelli mountains. Following a comfortable mule track you reach the Medieval fortification of Castel Manfrino. Once reached Eremo di San Francesco to Scalelle, he continues in descent up to Grotte del Salinello where, following the river, it goes out of Gole del Salinello along a path that conducts to Sant'Angelo caves, used by the man since the paleolithic.
After the hermitage you reach the inhabited center Ripe di Civitella (611 ms), where there is the access of Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park.
