The run begins in Montorio al Vomano, considered a real "showcase" of the beautiful panoramas of Teramo hinterland. You can see medieval buildings as Marchesale building, the sixteenth-century Collegiate of San Rocco and the Church of Zoccolanti of the 1755.
The first stop brings you on the peaks of Gran Sasso D’Italia with its splendid landscapes, its thousand paths and the uncontaminated nature between falls and glacial valleys, for example the Calderone, the most southern glacier in Europe. Along the road that brings you to the peak you’re faced with the beautiful suburb of Pietracamela, called the "country of rock" and chosen "suburb of the year" in the 2017. its historical center is made only by the small tightened lanes, by the typical residences in stone and by the delicious Romanesque style churches.
The second stop lead you on Monti della Laga through S.S. 89 call also "la strada maestra del Parco" Between the green highlands and the luxuriant woods you can discover the folklore and the traditions of mountain population. Among all we recommend you to visit Senarica (ancient Republic in medieval epoch), Poggio Umbricchio (built in the rock), Macchia Vomano (where you can admire the church of San Silvestro) and Crognaleto (where, in the church of Madonna della Tibia it is preserved a wooden statue of the XI century).
