This is a trip particularly recommended when snow arrives to bleach the lowest hills in Valle Siciliana. The perfect moment could be after the passage of a cold Balkan perturbation, in this case it needs to gather ski and snow rackets and to depart for one of those excursions.
Starting from Cerchiara’s cemetery there is a route that goes up the A24 tunnel. The road conducts to the small metal cross that overhangs the zone of Pisciarellone falls.
Here leave the excavates and continue on a rocky crest (only tiresome passage of the run).
Once you reach the summit, called Pianalunga (or lu n'cuume) you go down on the right to arrive to one "selletta" and then continuing toward left on a path that completes an ample semicircle.
From here the view is spectacular, you can admire Corno Grande, and more in low the hills of Valle Siciliana (in the clearest days it can be seen also the Adriatic Sea). From here you can go toward the shelter Orazio Delfico a Montanino and to go up again up to Forchetta. Once you reach the pass you can chose whether to reach the summit of Montagnone, going to the right, or go to the peak of Cima Alta, turning to the left (both attainable in few minutes).
