Built almost certainly in the fourteenth century, it is located in the wide Piazza del Mercato. The entrance portal, very beautiful and in Gothic-Renaissance style, was built in 1471 and is richly carved.
The building has a gabled roof with a small bell gable that holds only one bell. The interior, relatively bare and with most of the original masonry still visible, has a single nave, with the presbytery area raised one step from the rest.
Behind the altar you can admire a large and beautiful wooden crucifix probably dating back to the presence of the Spaniards in the Sicilian Valley of which Tossicia was a part.
