Church of St. Nicholas

It is now no longer used by the Church because it is uninhabitable in the locality of Piola Valley, a tiny aggregate of uninhabited houses since 1977. Although it is not open to visitors, it is worth taking a leap because it is part of a very special and evocative setting, given the mountain landscape surrounding with the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga visible and the surreal atmosphere of a "ghost" village immersed in the silence of the mountain at the foot of Mount Farina.
