Church of Santa Barbara

It is located at the exit of the village of Ioanella and meets it on the street in a clearing among the trees. Certainly before the sixteenth century, it was for a long time unused because crumbling, but in 1956 it was reopened to worship after restoration work in 1954. It has a traditional gable roof and a tympanum on the façade, a bell tower that holds a single bell and a simple portal framed in bricks. Internally there is only one nave that ends with an apse in correspondence of which is the small presbytery area where the altar and some votive objects are placed. The vaults of the ceiling, from which a beautiful chandelier descends, are embellished with frescoes made recently.
