Church of San Lorenzo

Small and charming church overlooking the square of the village of Fustagnano, located just outside the village Imposte, home of the town of Rocca Santa Maria. It was mentioned for the first time in a document of 1153.

In 1668 it was destroyed when the village was hard hit and almost razed to the ground by the Spanish army engaged in repressing the widespread banditry in that mountainous area. In 1951 it was renovated and in the early years of 2000 it had other restoration work especially with regard to the roofing. The roof is gabled and the front door is placed sideways. The interior is a single room and has exposed roof trusses.
