The original structure dates back to the ninth century, but nothing remains of that building if not a few fragments re-located in the new church that began to be rebuilt in the early nineteenth century at the behest of the family of Sigismondo Savini.
In 1845 the sacristy was added and in 1887 the whole church was restored. It is almost entirely in brick, while in the lower part there are also river pebbles. The roof is gabled and the façade, with a final tympanum, has a portal surmounted by a lunette resting on overhanging semi-columns.
A large rhomboidal window opens up centrally, with on its sides two kiosks which in the past may have received as many statues. Behind the structure stands a bell gable that supports two bells.
The interior is characterized by a single hall covered by exposed trusses, by an enormous suspended crucifix anchored to the ceiling and by a presbytery in which the altar and statues of St. Anthony and St. Peter are arranged, to which the church is consecrated.
