It is located between the alleys and buildings mostly nineteenth century of the populous village of Collevecchio. It is an impressive building that dates back to the second half of the eighteenth century and then be restored and embellished in 1857 and 1900.
Twentieth century are some of the work of embellishment and enrichment of the interior. In 1931, some marble altars and a fine balustrade were added to divide the presbytery area.
In 1937 a beautiful ciborium was installed at the end which houses a painting of the Baptism of Jesus and in 1942 a marble altar named after San Gabrielle dell'Addolorata. The sturdy bell tower that dominates the entire village is home to three bells and ends with a spire.
