A very interesting and suggestive attraction, which attracts many tourists every year, especially in the summer, is the Abetine in the immediate vicinity of Cortino, a stone's throw from the town.
It is a small but dense forest of white fir trees, with stems even two to three centuries, which represents a real environmental peculiarity both because it is a "residue" of the ice age, and because it is the most south of Europe.
The ancient Romans used to use the wood of this wood to make the oars of ships. Almost adjacent to the abetine there is a park of six hectares in which live chamois, roe deer and fallow deer.
