Located at the center of the few houses in the village of Gabbiano, it has a gabled roof and a bell tower with a decidedly oversized structure compared to the overall structure of the building, all in all of modest size. Above the entrance portal there is the following inscription: D.O.M. Templum hoc in honore divi Nicolai dicatum laudable study ac cure Iosephi Marcitti de Civitella Gabbiani prepositi vigilantissimi constructum fuit year salutis 1734.
The interior is a single room full of religious elements. A particularity is certainly given by the altar adhering to the wall that allows to celebrate the Mass only by giving back to the faithful. The ceiling is covered with exposed trusses and in the local cone there are several statues of saints, including that of San Nicola di Bari. On the walls there are also a Crucifix, the Via Crucis stations and two small holy water stoups.
