Malvina Menegaz Foundation for the Arts and Cultures

As stated in the art. 2 of the Statute of the Foundation "The Foundation [...] intends to: pursue purposes of social utility aimed at satisfying the need and stimulating the desire for cultural enrichment; promote initiatives aimed at the knowledge and enhancement of national and international arts and culture; to realize these initiatives by taking culture not only as a higher expression of the spirit of man, but also as a critical conscience of experience; to propose Castelbasso and the structures of the Foundation as a dynamic space for these initiatives, favoring for this purpose the conservation and enhancement of the cultural, urban, architectural and environmental heritage of the village, in order to include it in a circuit of similar sites, which has purpose of disseminating culture ".

Furthermore, the Foundation intends to make its own and enrich and further develop "Castelbasso Progetto Cultura", a plan that wants to make use of the various creations of art and thought for a series of coordinated and integrated initiatives able to propose Castelbasso as a cultural center and, in the long term and with the involvement of other realities present in the territory, as part of a cultural district capable of breaking the sea-mountain polarization of the tourist flow. In other words, "Castelbasso Progetto Cultura" aims, in close collaboration with public bodies, to achieve the goal of full enjoyment of the historical-artistic heritage of the medieval village through culture, also to generate positive externalities in the economic and production sectors, not only for the village, but also for the entire territory.
