Abbey of Santa Maria di Ronzano

Built in 1180, it has a façade facing the Gran Sasso and is one of the major Romanesque expressions of Abruzzo. Internally it has three naves, with as many apses, embellished with valuable frescoes dating back to the year 1171 or 1181 and considered as the true masterpieces of Italian painting of the origins.
