The Capuchin Church, named after St. James the Apostle on October 18, 1680, is located in a quiet area on a hill at the east entrance of Campli. The adjoining convent is earlier than the church since it was built in 1577 on the remains of the Church of San Salvatore a Trifizio.

It is characterized by several frescoes of fine work dating back to the seventeenth and eighteenth century, such as, for example, the one on the Virgin with Child and Saints present in the lunette of the portal and the one depicting the Last Supper which is located on a wall of the refectory.

The facade of the church has an entrance portico consisting of three round arches resting on four columns, a central window and two side aedicules with sacred images and, at the top, a tympanum surmounted by a cross.

The convent building, merged with the Church, is characterized by an internal cloister with a well in the center. Internally, the Church has a single nave that ends with the slightly raised apse and a remarkable reliquary in the sacristy. On the back there is a large crenellated bell tower made of red brick that houses four bells.
